Two-Goal Win For Ibrox Youngsters

A young Rangers team defeated Whitehill Welfare 2-0 earlier today at Ferguson Park, Rosewell in a match to mark the official opening of the Eddie Thomson Memorial Lounge.

The East of Scotland League side, who limited Celtic to just a 3-0 win on Scottish Cup business as recently as 1996, welcomed Rangers to their Midlothian ground for the very first time.

The Ibrox youngsters opened the scoring via the penalty spot in sixteen minutes awarded when Ross Johnston fouled his nickname John. Bajram Fetai did the necessary from twelve yards.

JJ himself made it 2-0 in 37 minutes when he dispossessed Ritchie Johnston, rounded goalkeeper Ryan McGurk and slotted the ball home.

The second-half produced a plethora of substitutions on both sides but no further goals.
