THIS WEEKS FAB FOUR
CHAM- Preston v DERBY COUNTY 2/1
Hapless Preston lie in 17th their only victory in 5 games was away to lowly Cardiff down in the 21ast spot. Derby in 7th place but only ten points adrift from the top and even less for a precious promotion spot have still all to play for. Their 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield last week interrupted a fine run of 5 games without defeat. Twins and a draw away and two home wins.
CHAM-READING 6/5v Wigan
The Championship match of the day as fourth-place place Reading look for all 3 points that will put them alongside leaders Wigan who after a fine burst of 17 games in a row without defeat, then a treble of misery began as they fell at home (0-2) to lowly Plymouth, then went down 1-0 to top spot challengers away to QPR, and finally last week struggled at home in a 0-0 draw versus 16th placed Leicester City. Reading spoiled their own run by having only their second defeat In 12 games away to Forest last week and will surely grasp this rare second chance to get to the top with the home advantage.
CHAM-Stoke v SUNDERLAND 11/8
Sitting alongside Reading is Sunderland on equal points but hold third place on goal difference the Black Cats will have a chance of joining Reading at the top if they can dispose of 10th place Stoke City and their rivals do the business against Wigan. After a sticky start to the season Sunderland have gone on 14 match run with only two defeats and face a visit to Stoke who in a reversal of Sunderland’s fortunes have only two wins from their last 12 games.
CCL2 -Mansfield v LEYTON ORIENT 7/4
Only four points separate Orient in fourth place, from the ten below them including Mansfield in 12th. But Leyton are only 5 points adrift from the precious promotion spots and must fancy their chances versus .Mansfield who have had only two wins in their last ten games, the most recent being at home to Notts County back in October. Leyton’s form over the same period has not been much better with only three wins and progress being hampered by a plethora of draws. However anything less than three points will surely quash Orients promotion ambitions in this very tight league.
