Scottish Football Journalists, How do they get there?

The Evening Times seems to give a shot to students from Cardonald college every week and most of them seem to have a Parkhead season ticket.

Was does seem clear, is that do not seem to do the investigating like they used to. The fight in the Central Station on Saturday is an example. Rangers fans were at first blamed along with Celtic and Motherwell fans. The time of the disturbance was 6.20 approx. Rangers were half way through a game with Arbroath at that time.

As someone said in a post 'Any self respecting Gers fan would be at Gayfield or watching on the box.' It doesn't take Einstein to work out the possibility of Gers fans being involved was nil.

But why check out a good story. Is it a case that all they do now is sit at their desks, answer the phone, take the verbals as gospel, promise the guy £50 and print and be dammed ?

It used to be said of Scottish sports journalists that they were 'Supporters with typewriters'. Now they seem to be 'Journalists with attitude'. THEY tell what's to be done, Who is to blame. Sort the problems. Tell them the situation, they will have the answer. McNee knows all the answers (He should, he made up half the problems)

Speirs is waiting for his rightful place in the scheme of things (Dear Deirdre page in the Sun) Leckie has used up his chances, and is now playing to the crowd. Grahame sees his aim in life is to portray Rangers in a negative light at every opportunity.

The rest, they couldn't even rise to the above's mediocrity.
