In recent weeks we have had cause to mention the reckless acts of Celtic's Antony Stokes.
While at Hibs he was lucky to stay on the park v Rangers, and after his move to Parkhead he was more fortunate than a Euromillions rollover jackpot winner to avoid a red card and a long suspension after a horrific challenge at Kilmarnock.
We have heard next to nothing about this in the media. There has been no furore and no punishment. The young player has obviously not been instructed by his present manager to cut out the violence and reckless behaviour. Had there been more made of his previous misdemeanours then he may have made an adjustment and been given a chance to remedy his approach.
But no. Nothing.
And today we saw the result: a premeditated piece of thuggery intended to seriously injure a fellow player.

Most pundits after the game were agreed: this was an atrocious challenge which merited a red card. The BBC, for a change, had it included in their highlights package.
Collum had a poor day at the office, but this early assault should have led to a man advantage. In an EPL game today the referee took no heed of the early nature of the game and correctly reduced Man City to ten men.
