So I got it wrong last week in that we didn't achieve victory and the table is now topped by the strangers to the soap dish, so this week, more than ever, we need to get it right. I'm sure it was no surprise to anyone that the mutton molesters fought tooth and nail in a display which was diametrically opposed to anything ever seen at the Paranoiadrome but that notwithstanding, we really should have killed them off.
The defence is again a major area for concern and I am crossing everything that crosses in the hope of the Amo/Moore axis resuming as soon as is humanly possible.
Dunfermline's record in the SPL at Ibrox is nothing short of abysmal, having never won there, and scoring only 8 goals in 17 attempts. Rangers have won 14 out of the aforementioned 17 games and I am confident that they will make it 15 this weekend. The statistics really are horrendous reading for fans of the Fife men.
In 38 Premier League games Rangers have scored 99 goals and conceded only 18 so things look rather bleak, all the more so given our excellent home record under McLeish. Dunfermline haven't won at Ibrox since Jim Leishman was a player in 1971/72, and given his penchant for poetry there are probably plenty who wish he was still a player.
I know Dunfermline gave us a hard time at East End Park in the CIS Cup recently, but that was a one off game on their own patch. I'm sure the referee will keep at tighter rein on Barry Nicholson's indiscretions, and a bit of protection for Ricksen would certainly help our cause. The return of Arteta should boost the creativity of the midfield, and if our strikers have their shooting boots on then I predict a 3-0 light blue victory.
